LASIK
At our Kentucky eye center, Dr. Rynerson uses the Nidek EC500 Laser and uses a microkeratome to make the flap prior to application of the laser to reshape the cornea. We get lots of calls asking if we use blade or laser to make the flap. Dr. Rynerson prefers the microkeratome, and studies have shown that there are no significant differences in vision quality when using the microkeratome vs. the bladeless approach. Although some surgeons prefer the bladeless technique, Dr. Rynerson’s experience and expertise with the microkeratome makes LASIK surgery at Rynerson Vision Care as safe and effective as bladeless surgery anywhere else. Dr. Rynerson also utilizes corneal mapping to help determine the precise laser treatment.
